The Climate: Typically as you would expect with a Mediterranean climate dry hot summers averaging in the low 30Cs but beware the winters tend to be very cold with plenty of snow, especially at high altitudes but then this makes for great skiing.

Special Features: Sofia is the capital and has a fascinating mix of architecture including the beautiful 20th century Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and unfortunately those rather less attractive post World War II blocks, but the natural beauty of the area is a sight to behold with the Vitosha Mountain looking down on Sofia. The mountains are also great for skiing and within easy reach of the capital where you can find places like the popular resort of Aleki. Of course the Black Sea Coast is becoming more and more popular as people discover the golden sandy beaches and warm summer climate. There is also a rapidly developing infrastructure to provide all the facilities required for the tourist and property owner. Bulgaria has improved enormously over the past 10 years with considerable improvements in its economy and major steps forward in all aspects of administration even joining the European Union in January 2007.  All of this makes it that much easier for anybody looking to buy property in Bulgaria.
